Kitchen renovations in Málaga

The kitchen is where a home’s life really happens. Renovating it well isn’t about catalogues: it’s about how you cook, where you lean and how you move around.

Renovated kitchen in Málaga with an island, a light worktop and designer lighting

Opening up the kitchen changes the whole flat

A good many Málaga flats — those in Carretera de Cádiz, Cruz de Humilladero, Ciudad Jardín — were built with the kitchen closed off, small and with its back to the living room. Opening it up is often the renovation that transforms a home the most: twice the light comes in, the place feels twice as big and you can finally be in company while you cook.

That wall can’t always come down, and when it can’t, we tell you. But when it can, the result is hard to beat: an open kitchen with a peninsula or island that acts as a gentle border between cooking and living.

Frequently asked questions

Can the kitchen be opened up to the living room in my flat?

Almost always, yes, but not all walls are the same. Before we promise anything we check whether the one separating the kitchen is load-bearing. If it is, it can still be opened up with a calculated reinforcement (a beam or lintel); if not, we’d better find another solution. We tell you straight at the visit.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Between two and three weeks of work, plus the lead time to make the units, which usually runs separately. We coordinate the two so the fitting slots in without the kitchen sitting idle waiting for furniture.

Do you make the units bespoke?

We work with bespoke units and with proven, keener-priced off-the-shelf brands, depending on your budget. In the small kitchens of Málaga flats, bespoke usually pays off: it uses every nook and corner that modular units let go to waste.

Which worktop suits me?

It depends on how much you cook and on your budget. Porcelain and quartz (like Silestone or Dekton) take heat, cuts and stains with almost no upkeep; wood and marble ask for more care but bring warmth. We show you samples and prices before you decide.

Does it include fitting the appliances?

Yes: we leave the water, drainage, gas or induction and extractor connections ready, and we fit the appliances. If you haven’t bought them yet, we advise you on sizes so everything fits to the millimetre.
