At RIM we’ve been doing it this way in Málaga for more than fifteen years. A full renovation starts with what nobody sees — and that’s exactly where a job lives or dies: new water, electrical and climate installations, drainage, insulation and, if the home needs it, external joinery. Only once that’s sorted does it make sense to talk about floors and colours.
From there, we redo what you use every day:
- New layout: opening up, removing or moving partition walls to gain light, usable metres and common sense.
- Complete bathrooms and kitchen, with materials decided in the plan and not on the fly.
- Floors, internal joinery, paint and lighting designed room by room.
- A site manager who coordinates every trade and answers to you.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?
Every home is its own world, but we won’t leave you without a reference: in Málaga, a full renovation usually runs between €500 and €900/m² depending on quality and scope, and between 9 and 14 weeks of work. Frequently asked questions
How long does a full renovation take in Málaga?
An 80–100 m² flat usually takes between 9 and 13 weeks of work. The figure depends on the size and on whether we touch the services and the layout. Before we start we give you a phased schedule and review it with you each week, so you always know where your home stands.
Can I keep living at home during the work?
In a full renovation we don’t advise it: floors, services, bathrooms and kitchen all come up, and living with that becomes very hard going. Most of our clients arrange to be elsewhere for those weeks; in return the work moves faster and comes out tighter.
Can the price change halfway through?
No, unless you change it. We work with a fixed price and itemised costs: what you sign is what you pay. If something unforeseeable turns up once we open up (a fibre-cement waste pipe, a damaged beam), we show you, price it separately and you decide before we touch anything.
Do you handle licences and permits?
Yes. We process the works licence with Málaga City Council, the technical documentation and the waste management. You don’t set foot in a single office.
What guarantee does the renovation carry?
The one set by the Building Regulation Act — one year on finishes, three on elements and services and ten on the structure — plus our own guarantee, all in writing in the contract alongside materials, timelines and payment terms. If something isn’t as it should be, we come back.
