Flat renovations in Málaga
Most homes in Málaga are flats, and many hide — under layers of woodchip and terrazzo — a great flat waiting to come out. Our job is to bring it out.
A 1960s or 1970s flat in Málaga usually has three things in common: a good location, a bad layout and services that have had their day. That’s a great starting point.
Because what those flats have too much of — partition walls, corridors, a tiny kitchen at the back — is exactly what a renovation can take away. And what they lack — light, a decent bathroom, insulation — is what a renovation can give. We’ve been doing precisely that across the city for more than fifteen years: in Carretera de Cádiz, in Teatinos, in the Historic Centre.
What we give your flat back
- Light and space by reworking just the right walls, not knocking everything through willy-nilly.
- Up-to-date electrics, with a consumer unit and circuits to regulation.
- New plumbing and drainage — goodbye to lead and iron pipes.
- Windows and insulation for less noise, less heat and a smaller bill.
- Floors, joinery, bathrooms and kitchen to your taste and budget.
Just bought, or been thinking about it for years? We’ll look at your flat and give you an honest steer.
Frequently asked questions
I’ve just bought a flat to renovate. Where do I start?
With a visit before you sign, if there’s still time, or right after. We look at the real state (services, damp, layout) and give you an honest steer on what it needs and what it might cost. Many clients call us with the deeds freshly signed; that’s the best moment to plan it properly.
Is it worth reworking the layout or should I keep what’s there?
It depends on how you live. Málaga flats from the 60s and 70s were built with long corridors and small rooms for a different way of life. Gaining a big living room, an en-suite bathroom or an open kitchen usually changes the home far more than any finish. We tell you which walls can move and which can’t.
Can I renovate only part of the flat?
Of course. Not everyone needs a full renovation. If what your flat needs is updating the wiring, changing the floor and fitting new windows, it’s done in phases with its own quote. That said, if you’re going to touch the services, it almost always works out better to do it in one go.
Do you change the windows and improve the insulation?
Yes, and in Málaga it makes a difference: new windows with a thermal break cut street noise and summer heat. We factor it into the renovation so the flat is quieter and cheaper to keep comfortable.
What guarantee and paperwork do I get?
A contract with itemised costs, a fixed price and the building-law guarantee plus our own, in writing. We handle the licence and the waste. Everything clear from day one.
